Orthopaedics

This includes any injuries or treatment where the bones, muscles and joints are involved. In practice the most common cases we treat are back, neck, knee and ankle injuries. We can also help with pain relief and advice on osteoarthritis and the rehabilitation of patients with fractures. Postural problems are also commonly treated. General sport injuries such as muscle and ligament injuries, as well as fascial problems and stiffness are commonly found. Muscle spasms and cramps are also often treated. Other conditions such as headaches, burns and scarring are all conditions that can be successfully treated with physiotherapy. In the hospital we also see patients for rehabilitation after surgery, for example, hip, knee and shoulder replacement, back and neck surgery, fractures, ligament and muscle repair.
